Jawbone Bluetooth Devices

Jawbone Bluetooth devices have taken the cell phone accessory market by storm, due to their innovative design. These headsets are compatible with various Bluetooth-enabled devices and are packed with features, in addition to having sleek and sexy design details. Jawbone devices block out background noise effectively, so that when you are in a public space or an area where construction work is being done, for example, the person on the other end of the call should be able to hear you well.

Other Features of Jawbone Bluetooth Devices

In offering noise cancellation, Jawbone Bluetooth devices have in-built speech recognition technology which differentiates between speech patterns and other sounds, so that a clearer, more audible conversation can be enjoyed. Some Jawbone headsets even incorporate automatic adaption to various environments, so that if you are in mid-conversation and suddenly enter a noisy area, your headset will adjust volume and frequency automatically so that the change in environment will disrupt your call less.

News: Incase Power Slider, More Power for Battery Hungry iPhone 3G

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Some of us couldn’t live without his/her iPhone for a few minutes, let alone hours. Had we stopped trying to beat Rolando and to set never-ending new record in Zombieville, iPhone battery life is decent, to say the least. However, if you are the kind of person who cannot accept tradeoff between game time and talk time, Incase says you need a secondary battery like their Power Slider.

Incase Power Slider directly competes withMophie Juice Pack Air; it offers case protection while extending iPhone up-time through its integrated 1330mAh Li-ion polymer battery, which equals to 120% of phone’s battery capacity. Built-in cell technology also prevents overcharging and short circuiting. The Incase provides 5 light LED battery status indicator that is found on the Mophie as well. According to the company, the Power Slider can manage to squeeze between 1 to 6 hours of battery life more than the Juice Pack Air depending on your usage.

  • Standby time: up to 330 hours
  • Audio playback: up to 26 hours
  • Talk time: up to 5 hours on 3G network and 10 hours on 2G network
  • Video playback: up to 7 hours
  • Internet use: up to 5 hours on 3G network and 6 hours on Wi-Fi

Video review of Samsung’s S8300 Ultra TOUCH / Tocco Ultra Edition

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

The Samsung S8300 UltraTOUCH was introduced this past February at the 2009 Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. Since that time, it has gone on sale in some European markets. In the UK it is known as the Tocco Ultra Edition, and in France, the Player Ultra. No matter what you call it, though, it is a beautiful phone with some really high end components inside that are bound to get attention.

Physical Aspects

In terms of physical design, there are few cell phones on the market today that are as well designed and overall attractive as the Samsung S8300 Ultra Touch. The build quality is very solid, and we were really impressed by the way the slider maintains its shape even when slid open, unlike many sliders on the market that have somewhat ugly, visible openings on the back when the camera is exposed.

When a great physical design is paired up with a stunning 2.8-inch, 400×240 pixel AMOLED (INFO) display, things get even better. The S8300’s display is, in a word, brilliant. It also offers the benefits of a capacitive touchscreen (INFO) in that it responds to very light finger touches. There is, quite possibly, no better looking display on the market right now.

The only real issue I have with the design of the Tocco Ultra Edition is the lock button. It is located too closely to the camera shutter button, and is small and somewhat difficult to activate. The rest of the keys, including the 12-key keypad and two-stage camera shutter button, all work well. The micro-USB port, and its cover, are also well done.

The S8300 Ultra Touch weighs 123.5g (4.4oz) and measures 110mm x 52mm x 13mm (4.3in x 2.0in x .5in) when closed.

Motorola Napoleon Goes through FCC

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

The fate of the Motorola(NYSE: MOT) Napoleon had been in question, but is clearly still due to land on Verizon(NYSE: VZ) after going through FCC testing. Bearing the A4500 model number, this Windows Mobile handset follows closely behind it Motorola Q predecessors, and has a good shot at taking up the mantle when Verizon picks it up. As if it didn’t tread closely enough to BlackBerry(NSDQ: RIMM), it’s even carrying “World Edition” branding. Still, it’s a decent smartphone, looking at the specs:

  • World-roaming, quad-band GSM, EV-DO
  • Wi-Fi, GPS, Stereo Bluetooth
  • Windows Mobile 6.1
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • Fingerprint scanner

We still haven’t heard  an official peep from Motorola or Verizon, but you can check out the FCC for a closer look.

What is Motorola Phone Tools?

If you own a Motorola cell phone, you can use a software suite called Motorola Phone Tools which includes everything you need to back up your contacts and more. Motorola phone tools can be used with your device via a USB, Bluetooth or infra-red connection, depending on the connectivity available in your device. Bluetooth dongles which can be plugged into a USB port can be purchased, and some Phone Tools packages come with a dongle included.

Upgraded Motorola Phone Tools

While Motorola Phone Tools comes free with some cell phone purchases, it is worth purchasing an upgraded version of the software, as there are likely to be bug fixes and other improvements. If your phone has a USB connection but you have lost your cable or never had one, you can easily find a new cable accessory online. Alternatively, you can purchase a Bluetooth dongle which will allow your personal computer or laptop to communicate wirelessly with your phone.

iPhone Accessories for Driving

It is unsafe to hold a cell phone and talk while simultaneously driving, which is why this is banned by laws in many countries. IPhone accessories which can be used for having conversations while driving, which use Bluetooth to transfer data between a headset and your phone, can make it much safer to have extended conversations while driving. This is useful for those who frequently drive long distances or are regularly trapped in bad traffic to or from work.

Protective iPhone Accessories

There are various protective iPhone accessories which can be ordered online, including those which are designed to protect privacy as well as accessories which provide aesthetic protection from scratches. Modern technology allows for cell phones to have large screens which span multiple inches, yet a downside of this is that the clarity of such a large screen can easily be lessened by scratches. A screen protector product designed specifically to fit your device will not have to be cut and should provide adequate protection.
