Sony Ericsson Idou officially launched as the Satio

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

This evening at an event in London, Sony Ericsson announced the official marketing name for the Idou prototype smartphone that it was showing off at this year’s Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. Dubbed the Satio, the new cameraphone will sport features like a 12.1 megapixel camera with a readl Xenon flash, as well as a large 3.5-inch widescreen touch sensitive display.

The Satio is the first Sony Ericsson smartphone to run the new Symbian Foundation operating system, which is based very heavily on Nokia’s S60 5th Edition platform. It features a unique home screen user interface and provides fast access to the user’s most loved media files, be they photos, videos, or music. The Satio also features integration with social networking sites.

Sony Ericsson’s PlayNow system will allow Satio owners to customize their handsets with games, movies, and music. The Satio is expected to be available in select markets in early Q4 of 2009, and will be available in three colors: black, silver, and bordeaux.

Some Sony Ericsson supplied video footage is available below.

Protect your Ipod with an Ipod Case

Apple’s iPods have been constantly reinvented with newer, better design qualities, and these details (such as the colorful finishes on the new iPod Nano) can be protected with an iPod case. IPod cases come in a variety of materials, from hard plastics which are durable and can be chosen to match the color of the iPod to stick-on vinyl covers which feature artwork which can be used to customize your device and make it unique.

Slip-proof iPod Case Accessories

While iPod’s have steadily become sleeker and thinner, this can make it easy to drop your device. Slip-proof iPod case accessories, such as those made from textured plastics or non-slip silicone can make it easier to grip your device without dropping it. Some cases offer the additional advantage of some protection against dropping your device, as the material from which the case is made may act as a cushion and soften the shock to your iPod on impact.

Samsung S5050: Slightly Intriguing Design

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

The Samsung S5050 doesn’t have much to show off in its specifications: it is a plain-vanilla phone with EDGE data rates, Bluetooth, FM radio and a 3.2MP camera that can save photos on a MicroSDHC (8GB max) card.

That said, we thought that this design is slightly out of the ordinary and catch the eyes. The pink-ish tone of the keyboard would hint that it is targeted to female customers and depending on one’s dress code, it could be a cute companion. It weighs 102g and boast a 105×49x14.6mm body. So, hot or not?

HTC Touch Pro2 available online!

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

HTC’s latest and greatest Windows Mobile smartphone the HTC Touch Proz, is now available online through DeviceWire! With the HTC Touch Diamond2 already available through online retailers and carriers in Europe, it was only a matter of time before the HTC Touch Pro2 went live. But, we had no idea it was going to go live so soon. Windows Mobile fans with a taste for HTC’s high-end smartphones will probably remember that previous speculation had the Pro2 going live on June 12th - a date that’s obviously no good anymore.

The HTC Touch Pro2 is only available in European spec at the moment. That means the Pro2 won’t be surfing any 3G networks in North America, no matter how much you pay for the unlocked quad-band GSM handset. But, if the Pro2’s 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera, WiFi, GPS and slide-and-tilt QWERTY keyboard are too much to resist, you can grab your own HTC Touch Pro2 all unlocked and ready to rock for £443.47 (~$620).

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Embedded in the latest iPhone 3.0 SDK, some folks in the mactalk.com.au forum has found a “iPhone 2,1″ icon, which represents the product code for the next generation of iPhone for year 2009. Wow, three Palm Pre stories in one week, whatever will my iPhone buddies think? Well if you’re looking to get your hands on a Pre when it debuts next month, you’ll probably be happy that I’ve been keeping you updated on the latest news. What new info do have that will assist you in getting ahold of your own Pre? Lets just say that if you plan on going to Best Buy or RadioShack to get your fix, you’d better get there really freaking early. Best Buy will be getting 4 per store, while RadioShack will only have 2. Suddenly I’m having flashbacks to Nintendo’s launch of the Wii.
